We’ve had a great start to 2025, thanks to our friends at the British Veterinary Receptionist Association.  We’re collaborating on a project to provide a new platform to host our suite of training resources.

These resources will be useful for every member of the veterinary team and animal welfare professionals, as well as for our colleagues working in allied professions safeguarding people.

We are so grateful to Kay and the team at BVRA.  This is a perfect example of how working together can allow us to maximise the potential that we all bring to creating positive impacts for our team members, professions and the animals and people that we care for at work.

Receptionists in veterinary clinics play a critical role in recognising and acting on non-accidental injuries in practice.  They are usually the eyes and ears of a practice; often the first point of contact with clients and members of the public phoning up or presenting animals to the vets.  They may hear something on the phone or see something in the car park or in the waiting room that just doesn’t sit right.  They may notice an owner coming in repeatedly with the same animal or different animals, with unusual explanations for injuries.  They may recognise that a colleague just isn’t themselves.  Knowing the unique position that veterinary receptionists occupy in a practice, we are delighted to be working with BVRA to create training material designed with the reception team in mind.

We look forward to giving more detail on this in due course, but we couldn’t help sharing the good news with you now!  Keep an eye out on our news page for updates, or sign up for our free, quarterly newsletter here to ensure that you don’t miss out.  You’ll soon be able to find out full information at the BVRA website, where you can also learn more about their range of resources, training courses and qualifications.

We can continue to raise awareness of the link between abuse of animals and abuse of people, and create better outcomes for all, by working together within and across the professions.  Thank you to everyone at BVRA for your incredibly generous support.
