Our guidance document to help all members of the veterinary team recognise and act on suspected abuse of animals and people has been updated in July 2024.
This version contains the current wording of the RCVS’s Codes of Professional Conduct Section 14 on client confidentiality and the circumstances in which disclosing information to authorities without client consent can be considered.
We have also added the new contact details for all areas now covered by the four specialist domestic abuse pet fostering services: Dogs Trust Freedom Project, Cats Protection Lifeline, Endeavour Pets Service and Refuge4Pets.
