Mark Randell is a former senior police detective and international safeguarding advocate with more than 46 years’ experience in policing, intelligence and serious crime.

His career spanned frontline policing, covert operations, criminal intelligence, serious crime and counter-terrorism, including work in complex and high-risk environments. He now applies that experience to safeguarding and violence prevention, with a particular focus on the links between animal abuse, coercive control and violence against women and girls.

Mark works with police, policymakers, prosecutors and NGOs internationally to strengthen intelligence-led safeguarding and ensure that warning signs of abuse are recognised and acted upon.

He is Campaign Manager at Naturewatch Foundation and a Trustee of Refuge4Pets and is a leading voice on the role animal abuse can play as an indicator of wider violence and risk.

What Our Attendees Say

The speaker's presentation was incredibly impactful. It truly opened my eyes to the importance of recognising and addressing the link between animal and human abuse. The Links Group's mission is now something I deeply support.

'Even though I ask the question on the DASH form regarding animal abuse, I feel more confident how to respond’.

‘Whilst the sharing of real scenarios from survivors' experiences was confronting and difficult to hear, it really cemented the knowledge and research you were providing’.

Attending this event was a game-changer for me. The insights shared by the speaker were both enlightening and motivating. I left feeling empowered to make a difference in my community.
