About The Training Program
In November 2023, the Violence Against Women and Girls Taskforce published their report, ‘The issue of violence against women and girls in Jersey’, which outlined 77 recommendations to tackle the identified issues. Following the report’s release, the Chief Minister accepted all recommendations directed at Government. One of these was Recommendation 47, which stated, “Veterinary professionals in Jersey should receive regular training on the link between animal abuse and domestic abuse, indicators of domestic abuse and the referral pathways available to victim-survivors on the island.”
In the Minister for Justice and Home Affairs’ response to the report, they stated that they are committed to implementing the recommendations outlined in the report.
In collaboration with the Government of Jersey and relevant stakeholders, The Links Group will be delivering this through their online training platform, accessible from July 2025.
