What should a Safe Yard look Like? How to make the Equestrian World Safer.
Working with The Links Group and as part of a team of professionals from veterinary medicine, policing, safeguarding, domestic abuse services, animal behaviour and equestrian organisations we delivered an insightful day yesterday at CAFRE Enniskillen discussing how better awareness, education and collaboration can help protect both animals and people.
Where animals are harmed, there is a significantly increased risk that people — particularly women and children — may also be experiencing abuse – ‘The Link’.
The question posed was “What should a safe yard look like? What can we do?”
Creating safer environments — for both animals and humans — requires us to look beyond our own disciplines and work together.
Yesterday provided a powerful opportunity to do that!
