The Links Group Accredited Specialist Domestic Abuse Animal Fostering Services are represented at the 2026 Women’s Aid Conference this week.
There are currently four accredited groups in the UK. Endeavour, covering Bolton and the North West of England, has been providing specialist domestic abuse fostering services for a wide range of animals for almost 30 years. Refuge4Petsin Devon and Cornwall is the youngest of the group, and fosters dogs, cats, horses and more. Dogs Trust Freedom has been providing specialist care for dogs across GB for over 20 years, and Cats Protection Lifeline has been looking after our feline friends for almost as long.
Holly from Cats Protection and Chloe from Dogs Trust joined Natalie Ratcliffe, acting National Manager for Cats Protection Lifeline and acting Chair of the Fostering Group. Natalie says,
“We’ve already had so many brilliant conversations with new and existing colleagues across the sector, sharing understanding of the links between domestic abuse and animal abuse and the support our specialist pet fostering services offer to victim-survivors fleeing from abuse.
It’s been wonderful to share the exhibition space with other like-minded services and companies.
This morning we heard from Women’s Aid Federation CEO Farah Nazeer and listened to an engaging panel session discussing how we can best challenge anti-migrant sentiment and create a new vision for change.
We are proud to offer specialist, trauma informed and intersectional services through the Links Pet Fostering Group.”
