Veterinary Surgeon and Veterinary Forensic Scientist

Sean graduated from the University of Liverpool with a BVSc in 1994 and worked in general mixed practice for 4 years before focusing on companion small animal practice. In 2004 he opened his own veterinary practice and gained an interest in veterinary forensic science.
In 2015 Sean achieved a Certificate in Forensics and Law from the ISVPS and became an accredited expert with the Academy of Experts. In 2017 a MSc in Veterinary Forensic Science was achieved from the University of Florida and in 2022 Sean returned to the University of Liverpool, Department of Veterinary Pathology to complete a 4-year PhD study, sponsored by a Dogs Trust Welfare Grant, to research mechanisms and injury patterns sustained by cats and dogs with a focus on Non-Accidental Injury.
Sean has published peer reviewed research papers Internationally within the field of veterinary forensic science and is an expert witness in the criminal, civil and family care courts, having provided expert opinion nationally in hundreds of animal welfare cases.
