Join friends of The Links Group and trustee Dr. Mary Wakeham for their free live webinar, “The Use and Abuse of Animals by Perpetrators of Domestic Abuse”, on 8 May 2026.  Mary will be joined by Jacqui Kilburn of JK Consultancy and Natalie Ratcliffe, from Cats Protection Lifeline.

Jacqui recently retired as Head of Training and Education at Women’s Aid Federation of England, and has been a stalwart of our online and in person training days since 2023.  Jacqui brings a wealth of experience from the frontline, is a renowned trainer in the domestic abuse world.

Natalie is acting National Manager of Lifeline, one of the four Links Group Accredited Specialist Domestic Abuse Animal Fostering Services, and has joined us in England, Northern Ireland and Scotland for Links Group in person events, as well as a number of online training opportunities.

The three speakers will outline the importance of the human-animal bond, and explore the dynamics of the manipulation of this bond by perpetrators of domestic abuse, before considering animals in risk assessments and whole family safety planning.
